I've been on the lookout for a CPU upgrade because my current Intel i7-8700K is getting pretty old. I'm thinking about moving to the AMD 9800X3D, but I've noticed that RAM prices are soaring right now due to shortages. I know prices fluctuate, but I'm not keen on waiting around for years for a drop. Is there a solid CPU option compatible with DDR4 that I should consider first? Alternatively, should I just grab 16GB of DDR5 RAM now?

Now's actually pretty decent for buying CPUs, but I'd be cautious about RAM. If you’re still using your existing RAM, consider going for something like the Intel Core i5-14600K with a B760 DDR4 motherboard. What RAM are you currently using?
