I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade my old PC or just buy a new one. My current setup is an Acer Aspire with a 9th Gen Intel i5-9400, Intel UHD 630 graphics, a 1 TB HDD, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 300W power supply. My budget for upgrades is $500, and I know RAM prices are pretty high right now. Ideally, I want to complete any upgrades by Christmas. What do you think? Should I invest in upgrading this PC or just go for a new build?

It really depends on the types of games you're planning to play. This PC can handle mainstream games decently if you add a GPU, but it's starting to show its age. The CPU limits future upgrades a bit too.
If you're looking for a budget solution, consider checking for used DDR4 sticks locally. A GTX 2060 could be a decent upgrade, letting you game at 1080p for esports and some indie titles. Just keep in mind the limitations of your power supply.

Honestly, the i5-9400 is still good for many modern games. I'm using an i5-10400, and it's running newer titles like Battlefield 6 and CS2 without any hiccups.
