I'm building my first PC and decided on the Ryzen 7 9700x as my CPU. Now, I'm trying to decide if spending an extra £80-£100 on the 5070 Ti is worth it compared to the RX 9070 XT, especially for gaming at 1440p with high settings. Just to clarify, I meant the 5070 Ti, not the super variant. Any thoughts?

For an extra £100, you get a much better upscaler with DLSS4 that works in way more games compared to AMD's FSR. Plus, Nvidia handles ray tracing much better. If these features matter to you, the 5070 Ti is the way to go!
Exactly! Both cards are solid for 1440p, but the features make all the difference. I rely on DLSS for a smoother experience in games.
I'm not sold on the 5070 Ti. I've heard it has some issues, especially related to performance dips due to its ROPs. You might want to watch out for that.
Yeah, but the ROPs problem mainly affected the early batches. Most newer cards are fine.
Honestly, I've had the 5070 Ti with no issues at all. I think many concerns are exaggerated.
If you can afford it, I'd definitely recommend the 5070 Ti. It’s the better choice overall. If the extra cash means cutting corners elsewhere, like on storage, then you might want to stick with the 9070 XT. But generally, the 5070 Ti is worth the investment.
They're pretty similar performance-wise. Check benchmarks for the specific games you play to see which card performs better.
Honestly, if you're just gaming, I'd stick with the RX 9070 XT. The performance is great for the price, and I'm not a fan of the driver issues I've heard about with the 5070 Ti.
I've had a good experience with the 5070 Ti on a new build, but I feel you. Driver issues can be a pain!
Absolutely! Nvidia's features are fantastic. I can't imagine gaming or even watching shows without those enhancements. They make such a big difference in overall experience!
