I'm dealing with a frustrating issue with my ThinkPad P1 Gen3 that only has the newer UEFI BIOS. I've created a bootable USB using Rufus and Ventoy with a GPT boot record, but the laptop won't recognize the drive at all on its USB-3 ports. I've disabled secure boot, and interestingly, my previous ThinkPad P52 recognized the same USB without any issues. I've spent around 10 hours trying different settings and researching solutions, but most discussions end without a real fix. Are there any specific BIOS settings I might be overlooking? What can I do to solve this problem?

First things first, check the boot order in the BIOS. Make sure that your USB drive is set to boot before any Windows boot manager options. Sometimes those priority settings can mess things up. You might need to play around with that a bit!

I've double-checked the boot order, and it looks fine, but I'm noticing the 'Windows Boot Manager' is listed first. I wonder if removing it from the boot order could help—what do you think?
