I'm currently using a 4K monitor with a Gigabyte 5080 graphics card, a 5800X3D CPU, and 16GB of RAM. There's a tempting deal at Microcenter for the 9800X3D, which would also let me upgrade to 32GB of RAM. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to make this upgrade now or if I should hold off?

The only performance boost on 4K gaming is in the 1% lows, which you probably won’t notice much. I'm using a 7600X, and it handles 4K gaming fine without issues. Maybe consider waiting for the next generation upgrade for AM5 to fully leverage your system's potential!
Honestly, I don’t think the 9800X3D will make a significant difference at 4K with your current graphics card. Your 5080 is already strong! Might be better to stick with your current setup for now and just focus on upgrading to 32GB of RAM instead.
At 4K, the RAM upgrade is what I’d prioritize. The performance improvement from switching your CPU would be minimal, so just upgrading to 32GB now would likely offer better results.
