Is it a good idea to buy an i9-14900K given the current DDR5 prices?

I'm currently using a 5900X with 64GB of DDR4 RAM, and I'm considering upgrading in the near future. With the i9-14900K priced around $350 in my area, do you think it's worth it? I understand I'd need to get a new motherboard, but at least I wouldn't need to buy DDR5 RAM, right? Thanks for any insights!

It really depends on where you are, but an i9-14900K is a solid option right now considering the pricing and DDR5 market fluctuations. It's definitely more powerful than the best AM4 chips, so if you can manage the upgrade, it sounds worthwhile!

I'm in the US as well, so that pricing seems like a decent deal!

I'd hold off on the i9-14900K. Intel still hasn't proven they've fixed the degradation issues with this chip. If you're after high performance, maybe consider going for the i5 instead. It could be a smarter investment in the long run.
