Will a Gen 4 NVMe SSD Work with a B450m Motherboard?

I'm thinking about adding an NVMe SSD to my Gigabyte B450m motherboard. It supports Gen 3, but I'm curious if there are any Gen 4 SSDs that would work well. I've been looking at options from Western Digital and Samsung, but I'm open to other recommendations too. Ideally, I'm aiming for a 2 TB SSD. Any advice?

You can definitely use a Gen 4 NVMe SSD in your Gen 3 slot on the motherboard. Just keep in mind that it will run at Gen 3 speeds, so you won't get the full Gen 4 performance. It's also essential to look into specific SSD models rather than just the brand. Western Digital and Samsung both have good options, but checking detailed reviews will help you find the right fit for your needs. Oh, and there's a handy SSD guide flowchart that might point you in the right direction based on your workload!

Thanks for the info! Just to clarify, I mainly use my PC for gaming and I'm really looking to upgrade my storage since I've been using SATA drives. I thought this upgrade could make a difference.
