How Can I Boost FPS with My i7-7700 and RTX 5070?

I'm currently using an i7 7700 processor paired with an RTX 5070 GPU. While playing games like BF6 and CS2 on low settings, I'm struggling to hit over 120 FPS. I understand that my CPU is somewhat outdated for modern AAA titles, but is there anything I can do to improve my frame rates without upgrading my hardware? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, your CPU is a major bottleneck. The i7-7700 is pretty old at this point and doesn't really keep up with newer graphics cards like your RTX 5070. You can try lowering some in-game settings and turning off extra effects, but you’re not likely to see a huge boost. Your CPU just isn’t able to push those frames higher than what you're already getting, so keep your expectations in check!

You might want to consider tweaking a few things in your settings. First, cap your FPS slightly below your max to improve smoothness. Things like motion blur and V-Sync can be turned off for better performance. Also, double-check your NVIDIA Control Panel settings to make sure everything is optimized for performance rather than quality. This should give you a bit of a bump in frame rates without needing a hardware upgrade.

Great tips! I did the same and saw a significant improvement. Also, make sure you're running on an SSD for smoother load times.
