Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade from my current PC setup, which is an i9 7920X processor paired with an RTX 4070 Super. I'm curious if this upgrade is worthwhile for 4K gaming, plus I'd like to know how much of a disadvantage the CL46 RAM is in this context. Here's what I'm considering for my new build:

- **Processor**: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, 8C+16C/24T, 3.70-5.70GHz
- **Motherboard**: ASUS ROG STRIX B860-F GAMING WIFI
- **CPU Cooler**: Corsair iCUE LINK Titan 360 RX LCD RGB
- **Graphics Card**: ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 ROG Astral OC 16GB GDDR7
- **Memory**: 64GB DDR5-5600/CL46 Crucial Pro
- **Storage**: 4TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe SSD
- **Case**: NZXT H6 Flow RGB
- **Power Supply**: 1000W be quiet! Pure Power 13 M
- **Case Fans**: 7x Corsair iCUE Link LX120

Any thoughts?

When you say 4K gaming, I assume you mean 4K resolution, right? If so, this build could be pretty solid. Just make sure your graphics card is up to the task, since the RTX 5080 is a good choice for 4K. As for the CL46 RAM, it may not be the fastest, but for gaming, the difference isn't huge as long as you have enough capacity like your 64GB. Just keep an eye on your overall performance to ensure everything's balanced!

Yeah, I agree! The RTX 5080 should handle most games well at 4K, just keep the settings in mind. And about the RAM, you might not notice much impact unless you’re doing heavy tasks like video editing along with gaming.

Honestly, I wouldn't go with Intel for a build like this, especially with your budget. AMD's 7800X3D or even the 9800X3D could offer better performance for gaming due to their architecture. The RTX 5080 is good, but pairing it with a stronger CPU can help avoid bottlenecks.
