I bought Bejeweled 3 and Peggle around 2010 but switched to Linux a year or two later. I've been trying to get them to work, especially because of the protect.exe file causing issues. Can anyone help me get these games running on Linux Mint?

Honestly, the copy protection might block them from running on Linux. A workaround is to download cracked versions of the games from sites like gamebounty dot world. You can run them through Steam by adding them as a non-Steam game and adjusting the Proton compatibility settings.
If you've got CD keys, consider activating them on Steam and running them from there. It sometimes works! Also, if you purchased them through the Microsoft Store, you might be out of luck.
Just a heads-up: some Windows software has a hard time running on Wine. You might run into problems with these games.
You could try using Heroic Game Launcher or Lutris. They can help run games that usually don’t work well on Linux.
If you're looking to play Peggle, it's now available on Steam for just $0.99. I've successfully run it on my Steam Deck without any issues. Plus, there's a PopCap party pack on Steam that includes both Peggle and Bejeweled 3!
