I'm currently using a 4080 OC graphics card and a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and torn between the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and the 9800X3D. I play a lot of games, stream to multiple platforms, and usually have tabs and Discord running in the background. I understand the 9800X3D is optimized for gaming, but I'm wondering if the extra cores of the 9950X3D might be better for my streaming needs. Also, I'm curious if anyone has suggestions for RAM; I typically go for Corsair. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your inputs!
Since you're streaming regularly and multitasking a lot, the 9950X3D might look tempting due to its extra cores. But if streaming isn’t your main focus and you’re gaming more often, the 9800X3D performs extremely well and is more than enough for your needs.
Definitely lean towards the 9800X3D! It's designed for gaming and can handle heavy tasks, plus it's still quite capable for streaming.
I'd recommend the 9800X3D for gaming and streaming—it does a great job without breaking the bank. For RAM, consider DDR5 at 6000 CL30; Corsair is definitely a reputable choice!
Honestly, the 9800X3D is a solid pick for what you’re doing. Going for the 9950X3D might be overkill if you're mostly browsing and gaming while streaming. Just make sure you have sufficient RAM; that's often the overlooked factor with a good CPU and GPU combo!
