I'm currently using an RX 9070, but I've been experiencing poor FPS in CS2, which is disappointing. I'm considering upgrading to an RTX 5070. I've seen the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 EAGLE OC available for €530, and I'm wondering if that's a good deal. Also, how will having 12GB of VRAM impact performance over the next few years?

I have the RTX 5070 and it handles everything I want at high/ultra 1440p, and medium/high settings for 4K. DLSS works great too. While the RX 9070 performs better in some titles, Nvidia usually has an edge in games like CS2. As for the 12GB VRAM, it should be fine for 1080p/1440p gaming, but might be a bit limiting at 4K, depending on the games you play.
If you're getting bad FPS with the 9070, that's unusual. What resolution are you playing at, and what's your target frame rate? Some users are reporting issues with the RDNA 4 architecture in CS2, which might explain your experience.
The RTX 5070 might provide only a slight performance bump over the RX 9070. If you're primarily gaming at 1440p and not moving to 4K, it could be okay, but I would advise considering if there are any other improvements you can make—like checking your CPU or optimizing settings in your games.
Based on benchmarks, both the RX 9070 and RTX 5070 can achieve over 300 FPS at 1440p on high settings. Upgrading from the 9070 to the 5070 might not really be worth it—it could just be a sidegrade.
I returned the 9070 and went back to my 3070, which is why I'm curious if the 5070 would be a better choice.
Before you rush into buying a new card, check your CPU performance. If your GPU usage is below 100%, you might be CPU-limited instead. What CPU are you using right now?

I've noticed that many are having performance issues with the 9070 compared to the 3070. It seems like you might want to investigate further instead of jumping to the 5070.
