I'm looking for advice on upgrading my 5-year-old PC. Here are my specs: I have an AMD Ryzen 5500 CPU, a GTX 1080 GPU, 32GB of RAM running at 2933 MT/s, and an A520M motherboard. I'm on a budget, but I'm ready to make some noteworthy upgrades. I also recently got a new 2560x1080 screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, and I want to be able to run games like Cyberpunk at around 100 FPS. What upgrades would you recommend?

The first thing I'd suggest is upgrading your graphics card. Depending on your budget, you could go for a 5060 Ti or something higher. If you're looking for a cheaper option, the 9060 XT could be a solid choice. Just keep in mind that you want to balance cost with performance.

For the best value, definitely go with a 9060 XT with 16GB of memory. It'll give you great performance without overloading your current PSU. Just make sure to check the specs of your PSU to see if it'll handle the upgrade without issues.

You could also target the 5800 XT or the 5070 Ti if you're planning to upgrade seriously. Just a heads up, though—the A520M motherboard locks you into PCIe 3.0, so you might want to consider a new motherboard if you're looking to go higher-end.

You might also want to consider upgrading your PSU, RAM speeds, and storage options since those can impact overall performance. The AM4 platform is still good, especially with the current RAM prices. Upgrading to the 5060 Ti or the 9060 XT would be a good way to go, and you might not see too much bottlenecking with your Ryzen 5500.

I updated my specs in the thread. I don’t know much about PCs, sorry!
