What Linux Distro Should I Choose After Struggling with Nobara?

I've recently transitioned from Windows to Linux and have tried several distros, ultimately landing on Nobara. However, my experiences have been frustrating. I consider myself reasonably tech-savvy, having a background in web development and modding game systems, but I'm not yet a Linux pro. I've encountered numerous issues such as weird access problems with my drives, freezing programs, and unnecessary password prompts from KDE Wallet whenever I access the internet. I also can't access one of my partitions in Linux and face similar issues on Windows, even after careful partitioning. Despite my troubleshooting with a Windows VM, I can't seem to get things working smoothly. I'm left questioning if Nobara is the right choice or if Linux as a whole might not be suited for typical users like me who want a hassle-free experience. I'm not overly concerned about privacy and prefer GUIs over command line, so is there a Linux distro that better suits my needs?

It sounds like many of your issues could be related to permissions on your mounted drives. You might need to adjust file ownership or permissions to fix those access problems. Regarding KDE Wallet, it's often a nuisance, but you can configure it to be less intrusive by not setting a password. Also, keep in mind that your drivers and system setup can greatly influence your experience on Linux.

I appreciate those tips! I'll definitely look into permissions, and I'll give the KDE Wallet settings a try. Thanks!

You might want to try a more mainstream distro like Linux Mint. It's known for being user-friendly and resembles Windows, which might help ease your transition. Zorin is also a great choice for beginners, as it has a familiar interface and comes with plenty of built-in tools. Both of these options should be easier to navigate than Nobara.
