I've been having a major issue with Discord lately where sharing my screen is maxing out my GPU's video encoding at 95%. It used to work fine, and I could stream without any problems, but now it's so laggy that the stream runs at about 1fps. I can record clips with OBS using much better settings and only use around 15% GPU. Earlier, Discord was only using about 20% for streaming, but that changed again after about an hour. I'm wondering if this could be a memory leak in Discord or if there are any settings I can adjust? It's strange because my friend with worse hardware can stream without any issues. Has anyone else experienced this?

From my testing, I've found that when I'm alone in a voice chat, my GPU usage isn’t too bad (around 50%). But as soon as someone joins, it shoots up to 100%! So frustrating trying to diagnose what’s going on here!
Same here! Ever since the last update, my GPU gets absolutely wrecked when I try streaming. My entire system basically freezes the moment someone joins my stream. It's hilarious that OBS works perfectly fine, yet Discord is this messed up. Guess we just need to wait for them to fix this!
I noticed that Discord's been eating up a ton of my GPU even when I'm not actively using it. Like, it was idling at around 65-75% on my 3070. After I restarted my computer, it seemed to help, but I’m not sure if it was just a temporary fix or not. Definitely a weird glitch since the update! If it ramps up again, I’ll see if I can diagnose it further.
That’s insane! I have a 3080 and didn't have these issues until recently. For now, I'm just using OBS as a virtual cam for better quality, even though it’s not ideal.

That's so wild! I can run Elden Ring on max settings without a hitch while recording, but Discord just chokes on video encoding. It’s really frustrating.
