Does Formatting the NAND on a DL380p Gen8 Affect the Internal SD Card?

Hey everyone, hope you're having a great holiday season! I've been dealing with this frustrating issue on my ProLiant DL380p Gen8 where the fans ramp up to 100%. I've tried a bunch of fixes, including the "silence of the fans" iLO mod, but it recently stopped working after a couple of months. I even updated everything to the latest versions, but the loud fans came back. I found a solution that has worked for many, which involves formatting the NAND. However, I'm worried that this might interfere with the internal SD card where my operating system is installed. How should I handle the formatting process? Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Formatting the NAND shouldn't mess with your internal SD card. It’s managed separately by iLO, mainly for storing logs and other functionalities. Just proceed with the formatting! It might help with the fan issue you’re experiencing.

That's good to know! I just wanted to be cautious since I've read some conflicting information. Guess I'll give it a shot!
