Hey everyone! I'm considering upgrading my CPU cooler because I believe my current setup is causing some overheating issues. I have an NZXT Starter Plus Prebuilt I bought around four years ago, and it frequently crashes, especially when using applications like Wallpaper Engine. I'm still pretty new to PC building since my partner handled most of the setup in the past, so I'm out of the loop on the latest components. Here are my specs:
* Case: NZXT H510
* CPU: Intel Core i5 9400F
* Current Cooler: Deepcool Gammaxx GTE V2
* GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660
* PSU: 500W Bronze
* Motherboard: B365
* RAM: Team T-FORCE Vulcan Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) 3200MHz
* SSD: Intel 600p Series M.2 2280 512GB
* Software: Windows 10 Home Plus
Any advice on picking a good cooler or troubleshooting my overheating problems? Thank you!

If your PC is overheating and crashing, that could indicate a problem beyond just the cooler. Sometimes, it's issues with thermal paste application or temperature regulation within the system. If the thermal paste isn't applied well, trying a new cooler might definitely help, but it's likely not just that it's 'too weak.'
Honestly, with your current specs, you could probably stick with the stock cooler for now. It's generally adequate unless you're planning on overclocking or running very demanding applications. I’d recommend saving up for an entire platform upgrade instead, especially for GPU improvements in the future!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll consider checking the thermal paste and the cooler installation before making a big decision.
