Should I Upgrade from 5600X to 5700X3D or Stick with My Current Setup?

I'm considering whether it's worth it to upgrade from my Ryzen 5 5600X to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, which costs about $380 CAD. I'm having a tough time finding it in stock, and honestly, moving to the AM5 platform with DDR5 RAM seems financially unwise. I mainly play Path of Exile 2 and some AAA shooter games. I've noticed that I only get around 40 FPS in the late game of POE2 at 1440P, and since I've heard it's quite CPU intensive, I'm looking for recommendations on whether the upgrade is necessary or if I should just stick with what I have.

Honestly, unless you find a really good deal, I wouldn't rush into the upgrade. Tweaking your current settings and trying things like overclocking could give you some nice boosts. Have you tried using Vulkan for better performance?

I’d suggest checking out second-hand markets for the 5700X3D. Just make sure to test it with the seller before buying. DDR5 prices are insane right now, so sticking with AM4 seems like the way to go. However, it might be worth considering some affordable GPUs if you're looking for an upgrade.

I upgraded from the 5600X to the 5700X3D after getting a new GPU. It's definitely worth it for performance, but depending on your budget, you might want to ride it out a bit longer. If you can snag an X3D at a reasonable price, I'd say go for it!

With RAM and SSD prices skyrocketing, going for the 5700X3D could be a smart move. It’s a solid upgrade path, especially if the alternative is to shell out for AM5, which is pretty pricey.

I think upgrading to the 5700X3D makes a lot of sense, especially if you're experiencing CPU limitations. It'll give you a few more years of use out of the AM4 platform. If you can find it at a decent price and it's within your budget, go for it!

I’ve got a backorder for the 5700X3D at $375 CAD, but I’m not counting on it being fulfilled anytime soon. I’ve overclocked my CPU to 4.2GHz and am thinking about pushing it to 4.4. Is the game actually better on Vulkan?

Just a heads up, make sure your RAM is running at 3600MHz since Ryzen CPUs benefit significantly from that speed. And what GPU do you have?
