I'm relatively new to handling SSL certificates and primarily have experience with desktop support. Unfortunately, our SSL certificate expired on the 23rd, and since the usual person who manages this is out of the office for the next couple of weeks, I've taken it upon myself to resolve the issue. I renewed the certificate and then learned that I needed to create and submit a Certificate Signing Request (CSR). I generated the CSR using IIS Manager and sent it to Network Solutions, but it's been almost six hours, and the status is still showing as 'in validation.' Is this a normal timeframe for the validation to go through?

It should typically be a faster process. There might be something causing a delay. Did you ensure that everything related to approval or payment has been finalized? Sometimes the issuance requires additional confirmation.
