Help Needed: Issues Installing Files for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

I'm having trouble getting Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to launch. When I click the "Play" button, I get prompted to install Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime. After accepting, the installation progress bar fills up, but then I encounter an error saying: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the 'Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 X64 Minimum Runtime - 14.24.28127' disk and click OK." I don't have that disk, but I do have Visual C++ 2022 installed. It's frustrating that installing the required files for this game is proving to be so complicated. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

If you purchased the game through Steam, it should come with all the necessary files already. You might want to redownload the game, just to be sure all components are intact. Also, try searching for the specific Visual C++ file on Microsoft's site if you need it.

I got the game from Steam, verified the files, and I'm still having trouble launching it.

You can try downloading the Visual C++ Redistributable package from the TechPowerUp link I found. It includes all the runtimes you might need to get the game running. Give that a go!

I installed all of those and I'm still getting the same error when I try to launch the game.

It sounds like you may have had the Visual C++ installed before and accidentally removed it. Try downloading the installer again from a trusted source and see if that works.

Which specific installer are you referring to?

I don’t recall ever having that CD-ROM either.
