I'm the only person who uses my home PC, but when I try to delete some installation files, I keep getting an "Access Denied" message that says I need administrator permission. I thought I was the administrator since it's my own computer, so why am I facing this issue?

It sounds like you're running into an issue with Access Control Lists (ACL). Either your account wasn't granted full admin privileges, or the files you're trying to delete are restricted. Windows sometimes does this to protect important system files from unauthorized changes. You might be able to change the permissions if your account actually has admin rights, so check that out.
