I've had my prebuilt PC for about five years, and after trying to reset it using the local Windows reinstallation option, it now just toggles between the Dell welcome screen and a message saying "installation almost complete," before going to a black screen. I've waited for over five hours, hoping it would boot up eventually, but it hasn't changed. I also tried unplugging the power, but I'm unsure whether the problem is due to hardware or software. Can anyone give me some advice?

It sounds like your PC is having trouble completing the installation. One thing you might try is creating a Windows installation USB drive if you have access to another computer. Boot your PC from the USB and see if you can repair your existing installation or do a fresh install from there. This sometimes helps when the system just won't get past the boot loop.
If you can’t get it to stay on long enough, you might want to check if your RAM or hard drive is failing. Sometimes reseating your RAM modules can help. Just power down, open the case, take them out, and put them back in.
I’ll definitely give that a shot. Maybe there is something loose after all this time!

That sounds like a good plan! Just a heads-up, make sure you back up any important files first if you can access your hard drive during the process.
