Hey everyone! I'm finally taking the plunge to upgrade my PC after realizing I'm struggling to hit 40 fps on low settings at 1080p for some new games. I'm planning to replace my GPU first before upgrading the rest of my setup next year. Here's what I'm looking for in my new GPU:
- I want to game at 1440p with high frame rates.
- I'd like something that feels somewhat 'future-proof' for at least 5 years.
- Ideally, I'd like to keep it under $500, but less than $400 would be awesome.
- Lastly, since I'll be upgrading my CPU later, it would be nice to avoid a major bottleneck for now.
Here's my current setup:
- Intel i7-6700k (not overclocked, but that's an option if needed)
- GTX 1660 Super
- 32 GB DDR4 (not sure on speed)

If your budget allows, definitely look into getting the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. It's one of the more affordable options right now since Nvidia's prices have inflated. Also, don’t forget that upgrading your CPU to a 6-core 12-thread processor would greatly benefit your setup!
You might want to consider the RX 9060 XT, which typically averages around $350. It's a good choice for 1440p ultra settings without ray tracing. If you're willing to spend a bit more, you could also go for the RX 9070.
The RTX 3060 Ti should work great for you! It's a solid option for 1440p gaming and offers good performance without being overkill.
If you’re upgrading from a GTX 1660 Super, I'd recommend checking out the PNY GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Overclocked 16GB. It's around $430 at Best Buy, but keep an eye out for better deals on sites like PCPartPicker.
