Is My Steam Hardware Updater Executable Malicious?

This morning, I noticed a suspicious executable file named "hardware updater exe" on my PC. Curiously, its date shows as if it appeared on 12/12/2025. I ran it through VirusTotal, and another site flagged it as suspicious, but neither Windows Defender nor MalwareBytes detected any issues. Should I be worried about this?

I don't see any links or screenshots in your post. If it helps, could you add those? It'll make it easier for others to assess the situation.

If you suspect malware, it's best to be cautious. Try running MalwareBytes again, or consider alternatives like Avast or Bitdefender for a second opinion. Sometimes, files can slip through without detection. Also, always keep your virus definitions updated!

That's great advice! Make sure to check if your Windows is also fully updated, as vulnerabilities can also come from outdated systems.
