Is Upgrading RAM from 16GB to 32GB Worth It for Gaming?

Hey folks! I currently have 16GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM and I'm considering a jump to 32GB of 3600MHz CL16 RAM. I mainly use my rig for gaming and general multitasking, and I'm curious if the performance increase will be significant or just a slight boost. I've heard that Ryzen CPUs benefit more from faster RAM, but I've seen mixed reviews. For those who have made a similar RAM upgrade:

* Did you notice an increase in FPS or smoother gameplay?
* Was the improvement more evident in CPU-intensive games?
* Do you think this upgrade is worth the cost, or should I save for a new CPU or GPU instead?

Upgrading RAM usually brings less benefit compared to upgrading your CPU or GPU. Plus, with RAM prices so inflated right now, it makes sense to invest that money into a more impactful upgrade. If you're on a Ryzen 3000 series CPU, stick with that and save for a better component instead!

Make sure you're using the XMP or EXPO profiles in BIOS on your current RAM; you might get it running at 3200MHz and save some cash. Also, it's better to have two sticks for Ryzen; it can really help with performance!

Honestly, right now might not be the best time to upgrade your RAM. Prices are pretty high, and if you're not absolutely sure you need that extra RAM, it might be smarter to hold off.

Two months ago, upgrading would’ve been worth it, but with current RAM prices, it's hard to justify the cost unless you really need it. If your current setup is running fine, I'd suggest waiting it out. Maybe check out used kits online if you really want to upgrade without breaking the bank.
