I recently plugged in an external hard drive and found it filled with 800 gigabytes of games and movies instead of my work files and photos. Not sure how that happened, maybe I lent it to someone? Now, even after I unplug it, the drive still shows up on my computer, and it's causing serious problems. Every time I try to load a game, it shows 100% usage and crashes my system, sometimes even restarting my PC. What can I do to fix this and get rid of the drive?

It sounds like your external HDD might still be linked in some way. Have you checked if you have another drive with that same letter? That could explain why it keeps showing up. Try also looking into system restore points if the problem persists.

I don't think that's the case. I double-checked, and it definitely uses that specific drive letter when plugged in.
