I'm in the process of upgrading my PC, and the only thing left is picking a graphics card. I'm torn between the RX 9070 XT (Sapphire Nitro+) and the RX 7900 XTX (XFX Speedster MERC310 Black Edition). The RX 9070 is about €125 cheaper. I've heard that FSR 4 might eventually come to the 7000 series, and I'm unsure if that affects my decision. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

100% go for the 9070 XT. You won’t be able to run FSR4 properly on the 7000 series because they don’t have the necessary compute units. There might be a less effective version of FSR4 in the future, but it won't compare to DLSS capabilities, which have much more widespread support.
Definitely go with the RX 9070 XT. The RX 7900 XTX consumes more power, has weaker ray tracing performance, and it's pricier. The 9070 will give you better overall performance for less cash.
I'd say that's spot on!
Overall, the RX 9070 XT is a smarter buy. It excels in ray tracing performance and has native support for FSR4, which includes frame generation features. Its newer architecture makes it competitive, even with lower specs compared to the XTX, which is better for specific high-resolution tasks requiring more VRAM.
I'd recommend the 9070 XT as well, but consider going for a different model than the Nitro due to potential issues with power delivery. Even though the XTX is slightly better in rasterization and has more VRAM, it's unlikely to have much more support down the road, and you might miss out on official FSR 4 support.
What model would you suggest then? I thought the Sapphire Nitro+ was solid.
If you care about ray tracing, then definitely choose the 9070 XT. I've tested both at 4K on Cyberpunk 2077, with the XTX averaging around 70-80 FPS without ray tracing. The 9070 XT hits similar FPS, but tends to stutter due to nearing its VRAM limits in some scenarios.

This is my first time switching to Nvidia, so I'm not sure how prevalent FSR4 is in games. Are more titles supporting it soon?
