I just changed the thermal paste on my CPU for the first time in a year and a half. I struggled with the application initially, as my temperatures were soaring to 95 degrees Celsius while playing Roblox. This morning, I tried again and made sure to clean everything meticulously with isopropyl alcohol before applying a matchstick-thick amount of thermal paste using the X method. After reassembling everything, my idle temperature dropped to 39 degrees Celsius. However, while playing Roblox, the temps climbed to 62 degrees Celsius, often peaking at 70. Now, even when idle, I'm sitting at 55 degrees Celsius, and it hasn't gone down. Are these temperature readings normal for an AMD Ryzen 5 7600x?

Yeah, having a good fan setup is crucial. The Ryzen 5 7600x is known to run a bit hot by design, especially under load, so your performance might actually be within normal limits overall.
It really depends on the cooler you're using. If it's a smaller model like the stock coolers for the non-X version of the CPU, then yeah, those temps could be expected.

I see! My cooler is actually an Endorfy Fera 5, so would that make much of a difference?
