I recently bought some RAM, but the packaging arrived dented and I found some dirt under one of the sections. I wiped it off carefully, but I'm not sure if this is normal wear or something concerning. Could this affect the connection with my motherboard? I'd appreciate any insights from those who know more about this!

It's possible that the dirt is just residue from friction rather than anything serious. However, if you ordered the RAM as new, it shouldn't have any wear marks. I'd recommend cleaning the contacts with some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab or microfiber cloth to be safe. If you're still concerned, returning it might be a good idea.
