I just wiped my SSD and did a fresh install of Linux Mint after dual booting for a couple of months. Everything went smoothly during the install, and I rebooted a few times without any issues. I left the PC idle for about 15 minutes, and it went to sleep. Now, it won't wake up at all! The power button doesn't respond, and the CMOS button has no effect either. My USB mouse lights up, but that's about it. When I drain the power and reconnect the PSU cable, I see a brief flash from the PCIe network card's LED, but it's too quick to indicate anything meaningful. I've tested the PSU with a jumper pin check and tried jumping the motherboard pins, but nothing seems to work. It's like the PC has life but is totally unresponsive. My setup includes a 9800x3d CPU and a 9070 XT GPU. This is weird since I've never experienced a PC just completely going dead like this before. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Have you tried resetting the CMOS? You could remove the battery for a few minutes or locate the clear CMOS jumper on your motherboard. Sometimes that helps restore functionality after strange behavior like this.
It sounds like you might be facing a hardware issue rather than a software one. Once a PC goes cold at power-on, the operating system isn't involved until after the BIOS hands off control. It's possible that there could be a hardware failure that's causing it not to wake up from sleep.

Yeah, I did some digging and found some threads suggesting sleep states can get stuck. But honestly, I'm at a loss too!
