What should I do with my friend’s half-finished PC build?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice! About a year ago, a friend got a PC that originally belonged to his toxic ex, and it had a broken motherboard that was never properly fixed. I tried helping him upgrade it, but there were a couple of issues:

1. The CPU cooler didn't come with thermal paste, so I couldn't assemble it.
2. The hard drive bay requires a specific type of screw that wasn't included.

I can easily buy thermal paste for the cooler, but finding the right screws for the hard drive bay has proven difficult. I've tried reaching out to the manufacturer for replacement parts, but no luck. We even thought about 3D printing the screws, but neither of us knows anyone with a printer. I suggested bypassing the hard drive bay by getting a new SSD, but that's too pricey for him.

Fast forward to now, he wants to sell the PC because he prefers using his laptop for college. I have no clue how to list a PC with these kinds of issues, and fixing it feels too labor-intensive at this point. Here are the current specs of the PC as it stands: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QkWmVF.

What would you do in my situation?

You're making this harder than it has to be. Just ditch that old HDD and grab a cheap 2.5" SSD. You can stick it pretty much anywhere in the case with some decent tape, then decide if you want to keep it, give it away, or sell it cheap.
