My PC Won’t Boot – Need Help Troubleshooting!

I recently built my first PC, and I'm having trouble getting it to turn on properly. I followed several guides online and everything seemed to be installed correctly. The power supply activates the motherboard lights, including a red CPU indicator light, but when I connect it to my monitor via HDMI, I just get a 'no signal' message. I let a co-worker of my dad, who has experience with PCs, take a look at it, but after two weeks, he's had no luck and claims my motherboard doesn't fit my case. I did my research and I'm pretty sure it does. All my parts are brand new, and I didn't bend any pins during assembly. I'm confused and need some guidance on what might be going wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You've got some solid parts there! Have you tried reseating the CPU and ensuring that the cooler isn't over-tightened? Also, make sure your RAM is installed correctly. Sometimes you need to really press down on it to ensure it's seated properly. I'd recommend checking those connections again.

What type of socket are your CPU and cooler using? They should work together fine. It's hard to diagnose without seeing the whole setup, but I’d definitely follow up on those compatibility issues and check if anything is loose!

Let's start by checking the specs of your build. Can you share what components you’re using? From the CPU light being on, it might be indicating an issue with the CPU. If it’s the wrong socket, it won’t fit properly, or there could be a manufacturer defect. We definitely need to rule out compatibility issues.

It could be something as simple as a cable not being connected correctly. Make sure everything is plugged in tightly. Also, if your monitor isn't receiving a signal, check if you're connecting the HDMI to the graphics card instead of the motherboard, if you have one. Sometimes it’s just about connecting the right ports!
