Hey folks, I'm dealing with an annoying issue where my router keeps rebooting on its own. This has been happening for a couple of months now, and at times, it restarts very frequently. Each time it restarts, it goes through the entire boot-up procedure as if it's just been switched on. I initially thought it was a faulty router, but my ISP has replaced it three times, and the problem persists. Here's what I've tried:
- Swapped out the router multiple times.
- Ensured all devices connected to the network are clean and free of malware (currently, I have 2 mobiles, 2 PCs, and a Nintendo Switch connected).
- Replaced all the network cables.
- Checked for duplicate IP addresses.
- A technician suggested it could be an electricity issue or related to the towers, and recommended changing the network card and using a surge protector, which I have done.
My router is a COMTREND GRG 4280 model and unfortunately, it doesn't provide any logs or diagnostics. Can anyone help me figure out what might be causing these constant reboots? Thanks a lot!

Does your router have any logging capabilities? It's weird that it doesn’t show logs since those could really help in troubleshooting.
It sounds like a power issue to me. Make sure to check the power plug and any power strips you’re using.
If you can, try putting the router in bridge mode and connect it to a better router. It'll let you utilize more options that the ISP firmware might be limiting.
Honestly, if this was me, I'd ditch that router and invest in a better quality one. It could save you a lot of hassle in the long run.
Have you thought about getting a UPS? It can help stabilize the power your router receives, plus maybe a small fan aimed at it could help with heat issues.
