How can I stay accountable as a developer when I haven’t built any projects?

I've been learning to code for two years now, but I haven't really built anything useful to showcase my skills in full stack development using the MERN stack. I've mainly been watching tutorials and copying what I see, but I recognize that I've just been stuck in planning mode without taking any real action. I often feel guilty when I see others posting their projects and successes. Moving forward, I want to hold myself accountable by documenting my coding journey through both video and text formats. Do you think this is a good approach, or would it be better for me to focus solely on coding and building projects? Essentially, I'm looking for advice on how I can build momentum in my development skills.

Honestly, just learning to code for the sake of it isn't the best route. You should find a problem in your life that you can solve with your coding skills and build something around that. Documenting your process sounds great, but don't overthink it too much. Remember, even experienced developers build things because they solve real challenges!

Totally agree! Focusing on your own problems gives your projects real value instead of just building for a resume.
