I'm in the process of building a PC geared towards video editing, and I'm aiming for a lot of onboard storage without relying on an external NAS. Ideally, I need an expansion card that can provide at least 13 additional SATA ports and offer full speed capabilities. I'm also looking for a solution that's reliable and easy to set up, as I'm not planning to use RAID; I just want each drive to be recognized individually. I'd love any advice or recommendations you might have!

You might want to reconsider the number of drives. Getting two 20TB drives could give you the same storage with less hassle. Also, remember you'll need power connections for all those SATA drives. Just saying!
Hey, just a note—make sure you have your data recovery plans sorted before you fill up those drives! You never know when things can go south without a proper backup.
Just a heads up, adding that many drives can get tricky! Make sure your case can accommodate them all. What’s your backup strategy looking like? It's important to have that figured out before you dive in.
I've got a Silverstone SETA H2, so space won’t be an issue for me. I’ve got a somewhat chaotic backup method that actually seems to work. After some research, I'm leaning towards an HBA card with Mini SAS to SATA for this setup!

I get that, but I'm really just trying to understand what hardware would suit my setup best. I'm starting to think an HBA card with Mini SAS to SATA is the way to go.
