I'm getting back into PC gaming after some time away. Right now, I'm using an AMD Ryzen 5 2600x on an ASUS Prime X470 motherboard, with Corsair Vengeance RAM (mix of 2x8 and 2x16 DDR4-3200), a Gigabyte Windforce OC GTX 1080 GPU, and an EVGA SuperNOVA 850w 80+ Gold PSU. I don't play super demanding games, usually sticking to horror games, Overwatch 2, The Sims, the occasional FPS, and maybe some RPGs or MMORPGs later on. I'm trying to figure out whether I should upgrade just my CPU and GPU on this AM4 setup or invest in a full AM5 build. I think getting a new GPU around the 5000 or 9000 series could be worth it at a good price, and maybe waiting on the AM5 transition for now. My budget is ideally under $1,500 for any upgrades.

If you're looking for a solid upgrade without breaking the bank, I recommend the Ryzen 5700X3D. It's been priced around $240 lately, and upgrading to this while also saving on a powerful GPU could be a game changer for you. It should handle your game list just fine, especially with a 1080p monitor.
Thanks! That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.
