I've recently upgraded to a 9070XT, but I'm still using an older 5500 CPU, which I know is a big bottleneck even at 1440p. Unfortunately, with RAM prices being so high, I can't switch to AM5 right now. I'm looking for the best price-to-performance option on the AM4 platform to unleash the full potential of my GPU. Any recommendations?

If you're looking for a solid upgrade, any Ryzen 5000 series CPU would be a significant step up, except for the 5500, 5700, and the 5xxxG models. I’d recommend checking out the 5600X, 5700X, or 5800X—especially if you can find them used at a reasonable price!
Just a heads up, bottlenecking can depend on the games you play. For instance, games requiring larger L3 cache might benefit from X3D CPUs, which are great if you can snag one before prices go up.
Honestly, if newer CPUs supported DDR4, I’d say sticking with AM4 is the way to go. There's really no huge advantage to DDR5 at 1440p or 4K for gaming.
If you're considering it, the 5600X is a solid pick. You also have the option to use VSR, which allows you to run games at a higher resolution and then downsample for better visuals without demanding too much from your CPU.

Right? I mean, unless you're trying to push extremely high resolutions, DDR4 performs just fine.
