I have a pretty frustrating situation with an old Apple account that was hacked years ago. I was using it for an old iPod and obviously lost access since I haven't used it in a while. Recently, I've found out that someone is accessing this account, changing details like the password, name, and even making purchases. Apple support has said they can't help me since I lost access. My old security questions are also changed, and while I can receive emails about changes happening, I can't actually get into my account. The only link I still have to this account is my email, which is fine and I still use, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do besides just deleting that email and hoping it will affect the account. Any advice would be appreciated!

Deleting your Apple account seems tricky since you need to access it to do that. If they say they can't help, that's super frustrating, but maybe keep trying to reach out? Also, I totally get that you were young when you set it up. It happens!
There might be a way to delete your old account if you can access it first. It’s puzzling how someone could get into your old account. You should try to change the email back if possible; it could lead to recovery. Good luck, I hope you figure it out!
It sounds like this might have happened because someone got hold of your old devices. Just be careful about how you dispose of tech gear in the future! If you still have the old device, maybe check it out to see if there's any way to recover access that way.
