I've got one of those flashy gaming keyboards with colored LEDs, and it's USB-wired through a KVM box. Usually, when I turn off my computer at night, the keyboard lights go off as expected. However, there are times when they remain lit. I've also noticed that my speakers stay powered on, so I manually turn them off to see if it affects the keyboard lights. Sometimes they go out on the first attempt, and sometimes I have to try a couple of times before they finally turn off. I'm curious if there could be an issue with my old speakers, especially since when I turn them off, everything else (like the monitor and keyboard) flickers out with a pop. Could I be risking damage by continuing to use them?

It sounds like your keyboard might not be properly shutting down due to the KVM switch. Sometimes peripherals can get power from the KVM even when the computer is off. Connecting your keyboard directly to the computer or trying a different USB port might help. Also, if your speakers are really old, they might cause some weird issues, so keep an eye on them.
Is your keyboard a Ducky? I have the Ducky Zero 6108, and when my RGB lights stay on, I just press "FN + X" to switch them off. Might be worth a try for you, even if your keyboard is a different brand! Also, check if there's a specific combination for your keyboard, as some brands have hotkeys for that without needing an app.
