Looking for a Quiet ATX PSU that Can Stay Fanless for Light Loads

Hey everyone! I'm building a rig with an X870 ITX/8700G setup (planning to upgrade to a 9900G in the near future) and a GeForce 2080. My case is ATX compatible. I'd really like to have a PSU that can keep its fan off most of the time, especially during everyday activities like web browsing. Is going for a Platinum rating necessary to achieve this, or are there other options? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

The Corsair RM750X is a solid choice. There's a knob on the back for fan speed control, and I really never hear it spin up unless I want it to. Also, it'd be good to estimate your total system power consumption using PC Part Picker and then find a PSU with an ECO or fan-off mode that meets your needs. Sometimes even a Bronze-rated PSU can do the job! Knowing how these things work will really help you in the long run.

What country are you buying from?

I’m getting it from Amazon US.

If you want a quiet experience, I recommend the Seasonic Focus GX. It has a button that switches the fan to zero RPM mode, perfect for your needs!

Look into newer Corsair models; they typically have a zero-RPM mode too!

You might want to check out EVGA PSUs with an eco mode. That feature turns off the fan when the load is light. I've been using one without eco mode and I've never noticed the fan running. But I've heard EVGA's PSU line is fading away, so you might want to consider other brands like Seasonic, which also has solid options.

Yeah, I wouldn’t buy EVGA anymore; they closed their PSU department, which is a bummer.
