Do I Need Separate Cables for My New GPU?

I'm upgrading my graphics card from a 2070 Ti to a 5060 Ti and came across a compatibility note on pcpartpicker. It mentioned that the PCIe 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector is supplied by multiple PCIe 6+2-pin power connectors and advised against daisy-chaining them or sharing the same power cable. My previous 2070 Ti only required one cable that split into two 6+2 connectors at the GPU end. Given this note, am I correct in assuming I need two separate cables for the 5060 Ti?

It really depends on the specific GPU model. Your 5060 Ti might either have a 16-pin connector or two 8-pin PCIe connectors. If your PSU has a 600W 16-pin connector, just use that with the appropriate cable for your GPU. But if your PSU only provides 8-pin connectors, make sure to use two separate cables for a safer setup instead of one that splits. Can't stress enough that splitting is a no-go!

Mine came with one 8-pin cable that splits into two female 8-pin connectors.

You actually don’t need more than one 8-pin connector for the 5060 Ti since it doesn’t draw too much power. Just check which model you have because not all of them come with the 12VHPWR connector. Some just use a single 8-pin PCIe connector, so keep that in mind!

It's the Gaming Trio OC model, by the way!
