Help! My games keep crashing on Windows 11 with an Nvidia GPU

I've been struggling with various games like BeamNG Drive (in Vulkan mode), Assetto Corsa Rally, and Red Dead Redemption 2 crashing on my PC with Windows 11. They either freeze when loading or crash immediately. When I enable RTX in Minecraft Bedrock, it freezes and then closes. Just two weeks ago, everything was working fine, so something has changed. I've already updated Windows and Nvidia drivers, rolled back the drivers, reinstalled them using DDU, and even tweaked some settings in my antivirus and BIOS, but nothing seems to work. I also checked for errors using WinDbg and found issues with `nvcuda64.dll`. I'm trying to avoid reinstalling Windows if I can help it, and the only thing I haven't tried is swapping out my Nvidia GPU, which I have a spare for. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the driver version you're using might be a problem. I've heard that version 591.xx is pretty buggy. You might want to try rolling back to 581.xx and see if that resolves your crashing issues.

I heard the same thing, so I tried 581.42, but I'm still having the same issues.

If you suspect malware, you might want to run a malware scan or check out some guides online for diagnosing it. Just an idea!

What are your GPU temperatures looking like during gaming? It might help identify overheating issues if they're too high.

They're around ~43°C, so not too hot.

Make sure you check your backup data before messing with BIOS settings. That can sometimes lead to losing data.
