I recently upgraded to a 27-inch mini LED 1440p monitor to replace my old 27-inch 1080p one, expecting to notice a big improvement. Strangely, they seem almost identical to me, aside from the taskbar appearing smaller. I also noticed my framerate in Cyberpunk has dropped to around 30 FPS with my 9070XT, so I know there must be some difference. Shouldn't the upgrade be obvious?

It sounds like something isn't quite right. If you're getting only 30 FPS in Cyberpunk and can't tell a difference, that raises a red flag. Trust me, when I switched from 1080p to 1440p on a 27-inch screen, the clarity and sharpness were noticeable right away. Are you sure you aren’t running ultra settings with path tracing without any upscaling? That's pretty demanding!
Also, have you tried doing a side-by-side comparison with your old monitor? Sometimes having them both on at the same time helps highlight the differences better. I upgraded from 1080p to 1440p at 170 Hz, and while the refresh rate was a game changer, the sharper image was definitely noticeable too!
Yeah, that makes sense. Unfortunately, I can’t even hit 80 FPS in most of my games on ultra settings. It feels like I'm missing out!
You might want to get your eyes checked. No joke, the difference between a 1080p and 1440p on a 27-inch screen should be pretty clear unless there's a vision issue. If the resolution is set correctly and you still can’t see it, that might be the reason!
Very true! I already have a prescription, but I guess I should try wearing my glasses more often.
Honestly, if you can’t see a difference, it might be worth going back to 1080p. You shouldn’t pay extra for a resolution you can’t appreciate. But if you really love the mini LED feature, maybe stick with it and see if some tweaks help you notice the upgrade more!
I hear you on that! I really like the mini LED tech, but I wish they made a 1080p version too. Sometimes it's about personal preference.
It’s worth noting that if you enable FSR 4 with performance settings on Cyberpunk, you'll boost your framerate significantly without losing quality. Given that you’re unable to see the difference between resolutions, that might make your gaming experience much smoother! Just a thought!
I’ll give that a shot! It’s frustrating when the hardware can’t keep up with what I want to see.

Yeah, for sure! I was getting about 70 FPS at 1440p ultra settings, and I don’t even have the latest CPU. So you should be doing better unless your settings are way too high.
