Confused About Choosing a New PSU: Is ATX 3.0 and 3.1 Compatibility a Thing?

I'm in the market for a new power supply and haven't upgraded in quite some time. I'm considering the Lian Li Edge 1300W White PSU, which claims to comply with both ATX 3.0 and 3.1 standards and is also PCIE 5.1 compliant. I'm curious if it's possible for a power supply to meet both versions of ATX standards. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

1300W is definitely a lot of juice! Even 1000W can be overkill for some builds, depending on your components. Make sure you actually need that much power!

There's no reason a PSU compliant with ATX 3.1 wouldn't also comply with 3.0. So, yes, it should be perfectly fine to go with it!

What kind of hardware are you planning to use with it? That can really help in deciding if you need something as powerful as 1300W.

I'm thinking of getting a 5090 graphics card paired with a 9950x3D processor.
