Should I Upgrade to New DDR4 RAM for My PC?

I built my PC back in 2017 with an Intel i7 6700 and a GTX 1080, but it's starting to feel outdated. I'm planning to upgrade to a 9060XT and a new CPU, possibly the AMD 5700X3D, though I'm still deciding. I'm considering whether to buy new DDR4 RAM since I'm seeing DDR5 prices that are beyond my budget. The cheapest 16GB of DDR5 is around $250, while DDR4 is roughly $110. I already have 32GB of DDR4 RAM, but it's over eight years old, and I'm wondering if it's wise to stick with it or invest in something new. Also, would this RAM work with an AM4 motherboard? On a side note, should I consider going with AM5 for future upgrades? If so, I could get the 7500F for now and add more RAM later.

Honestly, your current RAM is still good enough. There's no pressing need to buy new unless you're hitting performance limits. The 5700X3D is a solid choice, just make sure to get an AM4 motherboard—double-check if it needs a BIOS update. Sticking with DDR4 is just fine, especially with how the market is now. If you get the 5700X3D, its resale value should hold up nicely for later upgrades.

I hear you, but isn't the performance a lot better if you just jump to AM5 and get newer tech? That way, you're set for future upgrades without changing everything again.
