I'm really frustrated with my internet connection at home. Ever since I got a new modem/router, my computer seems to be the only one affected by these weird internet problems. Sometimes I can load apps like Discord, but Steam won't work. Other times, Facebook loads fine but Reddit doesn't. It's not always the same websites, so it's kind of a mystery. This started happening on my old computer too, which makes me wonder if it's the new router causing the issue or maybe a faulty Ethernet cable. The other devices in my house are all fine, whether they're connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. It happens randomly - most of the time everything's fine, but then suddenly my internet access feels limited. I've tried everything: reinstalling drivers, switching ports on the router, using Ethernet to USB, restarting everything, flushing DNS, and even built a whole new PC. I really need some help figuring this out!

You should definitely check your DNS settings, subnet mask, and MTU. Those can sometimes cause connectivity issues like the ones you're experiencing.
Have you tried a different Ethernet cable? If that doesn't work, you might want to set your router's DNS to 1.0.0.1 and 8.8.8.8. After changing those settings, don't forget to flush the DNS and release/renew your IP address. If the problem persists, try adjusting the DNS settings directly on your computer's IPv4 settings. That could help clear things up!
If everything else is working fine, it might just be a problem with your Ethernet cable. Maybe consider switching to Wi-Fi for now while you figure things out. It's usually a lot easier than running a new cable if that's what you have to do!
