I'm considering upgrading my old PC setup that currently has an Intel Core i7-8700K and some decent components. I used to have a 3080 but sold it, and now I'm wondering how a new GPU, like the 5070 or 5080, would perform with my existing build. I know there could be some bottlenecking issues, especially since I'm running a 60Hz 4K monitor and I generally prefer to max out settings in games. Given the current prices for RAM and other parts, I'm curious if it's worth it to keep using what I have or if I should plan for a complete overhaul. Here are my specs:
* CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
* CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 Rev 2 98.17 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
* Motherboard: Asus ROG MAXIMUS X HERO ATX LGA1151
* Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL14 & 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
* Storage: Samsung 960 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME SSD
* Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower Case
* Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX

If you're into more GPU-heavy games, you likely won’t notice the bottleneck as much. However, I noticed you're using two different RAM kits; you might want to standardize that for better performance. Mixing speeds can lead to some inconsistencies in performance.
You might face some bottlenecking with the CPU, but that won't stop you from using a new GPU like the 5070 or 5080. The GPU performance will definitely surpass what your CPU can handle, but if your main concern is just casual gaming, it should still perform pretty well. Just don't expect to max out every setting and get the absolute best fps.
You're good to go! While you won't squeeze every bit of performance out of the new GPU, it should still run smoothly for most games. Just keep in mind that if you're diving into anything heavily GPU-intensive, the CPU might hold you back a bit more.

I synced them up now! One set is faster, but I set it to match the slower one. Do you think having 8 GB and 16 GB is an issue?
