I have a Series 0 Apple Watch that I bought second-hand for $30. The problem is, it only charges to around 20% and then dies quickly once I take it off the charger. I've tested it with different charging cables, and sometimes it manages to charge to 100% but doesn't hold the battery well. I can't afford to take it to a technician, so I'm wondering if anyone knows what might be causing this issue or if there are any solutions I could try myself.

It sounds like your watch's battery might be reaching the end of its life. Since it's a Series 0 model and over ten years old, that's pretty common. Unfortunately, when a battery gets old, it doesn’t hold a charge like it used to, which could explain why it only sometimes reaches 100% and then dies fast.
Have you considered getting a different watch altogether? There are budget-friendly options out there; I just got an Apex for $24.99. It syncs well with my iPhone and the battery lasts a whole week! Just a thought if you’re looking for something more reliable.
