Looking for CPU Recommendations: Quiet and Cool for a New Build

Hey everyone! I'm putting together a new PC from scratch and I'm eyeing the RX9060 XT for my GPU. However, I'm a bit lost when it comes to choosing the right CPU. My main priorities are that it runs quietly and lasts a long time. I built a PC around five years ago with an RTX 3060 12GB and a 12th gen Intel processor, but I can't recall the exact model. If it weren't for a mold issue, I'd still be using that setup.

I need a CPU that's fast enough for compiling code in Unity3D, so I think I'll need at least 6 cores. However, with so many options available, I don't want to end up overpaying for features I won't actually use. I typically don't play high-octane games, although I enjoy RDR2 at 1440p on high settings and Dwarf Fortress, which has never stressed my CPU too much even on my laptop.

Here's my current list of components: [PCPartPicker List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QwPpdb). What do you all suggest?

Hey! If you’re looking for a cool and quiet CPU, I’d recommend checking out AMD's Ryzen series. The Ryzen 5 5600X is a solid choice with 6 cores and is known for great performance while staying relatively silent, especially when paired with a good cooler. Plus, it won’t break the bank!

I second that! I’ve had the 5600X for a while now and it runs super cool and quiet, even under load. Perfect for coding and casual gaming!

If you're considering Intel, the Core i5-12400 could also be a good match for you. It has 6 cores, good single-thread performance for compiling, and decent thermal management. Just make sure to invest in a nice cooler to keep it as quiet as possible!
