I'm currently using Windows 10 but I'm considering making the switch to Linux for gaming. I've done some research and stumbled upon Arch Linux, but I'm not certain if it's the best choice. To give you a clearer picture, here's my laptop's specs: I've got a 2nd generation Mobile DualCore Intel Pentium B960 @ 2.20Ghz, integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000, and a discrete AMD Radeon HD 8570M graphics card, plus 8GB of RAM and an HDD. My top priority is achieving the maximum FPS and overall gaming performance, so I'm looking for recommendations on distributions that excel in this area, regardless of the desktop environment.

If you're really focused on gaming, you might want to try Nobara or Pika. They come highly recommended. And don't sleep on Solus! While it hasn't been in the spotlight lately, its gaming performance is solid and the system itself is well-engineered.

I've been using bazzite for a while, and it runs really well for gaming. I can't wait to explore some other distros soon, but so far, I'm satisfied with its performance.

PikaOS is another great option to consider. It’s user-friendly and optimized for gaming!

You should definitely check out CachyOS and OpenSuse Tumbleweed. Both are lightweight and designed for performance. I personally prefer OpenSuse for its easy rollback feature during updates, making it simpler to maintain without causing issues.
